Spring has started on the calendar and the beautiful snow is melting. Powderhorn hadn’t started mountain biking yet (would be a muddy disaster) and the trails are snow covered but give it a few more weeks. This year (drum tool please) we’re adding a canoe for our renters (to use with a signed release and life jackets)! You’ll be able to paddle and fish some of the best places anywhere! Remember the sun is very strong and the water is freezing cold so use protection and your life vest at all times! You can become hypothermic in a matter of seconds in the water so please please please be careful! Bring a fishing pole or buy a cheap one at Wally World and get some bait! There are some lake monsters up here and trust me-you haven’t had fish till you’ve eaten what you caught and cooked the same day! Here is a place you can get away from Covid-19 or anything else! We have adopted the use of safer and more effective disinfectants for all cleaning, and staying aware of irritants as well, for us and our guests. Spend your days hiking across the pristine wilderness of the Grand Mesa (or any other activity you desire). We haven't gotten out of this Covid mess yet, but you can marvel at the beautiful scenery that exists all over the Grand Mesa and clear your head as you “social distance”. Lazy Moose Lodge is a cozy cabin tucked into the side of the beautiful Grand Mesa - minutes from Powderhorn Skiing in the winter and challenging mountain biking in the summer. Grand Mesa National Forest is 1 mile away with 800 sq. miles of fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ATV trails, mountain biking trails and every outdoor activity you can think of! The house is a 1550 sq foot home with full kitchen, wood burning stove, baseboard heat, ceiling fans and views that will stop you in your tracks. There are 2 loft bedrooms, pull out sofa in the LR and 2 bedrooms downstairs. Currently sleeps 6 comfortably. Large screen TV and wifi are present although the connection is variable, so come prepared to unwind. We provide 3 sets of XC skis (175,180 and 190 cms skis with NNN bindings available with advance notice) and 4 prs of snow shoes for you to enjoy while here! You will need to rent boots with NNN bindings (and maybe some padded shorts if you’re new to the sport) to make full use of the skis. This is a non smoking, drug free, cabin. Your visit will be terminated and security fees forfeited. This includes cannabis as well as illegal drugs. If you must smoke we strongly encourage you to stay at another facility ( sorry owner is extremely allergic and can barely handle the wood stove). If you are recovering from, or think you have Covid 19, please stay at a much lower elevation. Oxygen is a bit more scarce up here and its tougher for emergency crews to get up here to help you out. Air medical transport is very expensive (trust me I did it for a living) and you won't be enjoying the view strapped down on a stretcher. Please be safe. We are not equipped for wheelchairs/walkers since there are multiple stairs and the bathroom is not very large (a second bathroom may be in the plans for downstairs). We have wifi, big screen tv with satellite service, a wood stove, electric baseboard heat, ceiling fan, and many more amenities! We have a cistern (1,000 gallon tank) for water for bathing and cooking. We encourage you to drink bottled water for your visit since our water is very hard and will taste metallic to you. The Lazy Moose sits at 8200+ feet so it is high altitude- plan to adjust to the environment and take it easy if you are new to altitude ( a good excuse to be lazy!) Drink plenty of water and rest as you need to and it will be a snap. Food is available during the day at Powderhorn Ski resort, during ski/mountain bike season. You may also drive 8- 10 minutes down the road to Mesa. The Wagon Wheel Restaurant is a full service restaurant with a variety of options. We now have a part time General Store in Mesa open Wednesday- Sunday. They have coffee, drinks, some fresh vegetables, nice local meats , some camping odds and ends and gifts. Groceries are available at the RV campground as well. The liquor store in town is open as the owner sees fit. Grand Junction or Clifton is a good place to load up on groceries, water, necessities like tp ( due to shortages we are supplying a couple large rolls) or paper towels ( we leave some but you never know) and whatever else you need to make your stay comfortable. Emergency medical care is available in Grand Junction at St. Mary's Medical Center or Community Hospital. Both are about 1 hour away so please call 911 if you need emergency care. There is no gas station in Mesa other than the RV campground just north of Mesa, so be sure to fill up before coming up. We also recommend 4WD or AWD especially in winter. Driving across the Mesa is a beautiful drive in good weather (the road may be closed during snow storms) and you can visit Cedaredge for shopping and dining. The Grand Mesa is a magical place and we welcome the opportunity for you to spend a few days or weeks to be under its spell. Cozy, 2 bedroom residence located on the other side of our home. We're on the other side of the Rockies from Denver and the other side of the Grand Mesa from Grand Junction. Hike, bike, fish, snowshoe, skiing and cross-country skiing to your heart's content. The apartment is 1200 square feet with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room, dining room, and kitchen. The bedrooms have 2 queen size beds. The living room has a sleeper sofa that can accommodate 2 small folks or one large. We provide optional fresh baked scones for the first morning of a guest's stay, but guests are welcome to use the kitchen for preparation of any or all of their meals. Upon reservation confirmation, we will contact you to see if you want the optional scones. The apartment offers a lovely sun-room to enjoy morning coffee or watching the sunset over the Mesa.

This cozy cabin shares a ten acre lot with our house. The Blue Bear makes a great home base for your adventures, or just a place to sit in front of the fire with that book you've been wanting to read, play board games with family, and cook up some great meals in the fully equipped kitchen. The property is a few miles outside of Cedaredge, on the southern slope of the Grand Mesa where recreational opportunities abound. The cabin kitchen is furnished like it was when we lived there, down to Tupperware and plastic wrap in the drawers. There's an instant pot, crockpot, waffle iron, blender, stand mixer, immersion blender, electric griddle, toaster, and plenty of pots, pans, and mixing bowls. You can cook up a storm in that kitchen! Lift up the lid of the trunk in the living room to find an assortment of games and activities for all ages. There's plenty of room to park your trailer by the cabin. And no special vehicle is necessary; the roads are plowed and slopes are gentle right to the front door.

The Rosie Knight Ranch is nestled on 17 acres on the southern slope of Grand Mesa with access to fishing, hiking, downhill and cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ATVs, and horseback riding. We are within a 2-hour drive of Glenwood Springs, Telluride, Ouray, Ridgway, the Black Canyon National Park, and the Utah border. The residence is a spacious 800 sq. ft., fully furnished apartment separate from the main house and up a flight of stairs. We have great WIFI, Cable TV, and Amazon Alexa. Good cell phone service. The apartment has Refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, and washer and dryer. Central heat and Evaporative cooler for summer months. There is lots of wildlife on the property, deer, raptors, fox, coyote, turkeys. We have 3 horses , 3 dogs, and chickens. The area is rich in fruit orchards, and wineries. The balcony features a stunning view of the Grand Mesa and stars at night. Very quiet area.

Full of art, plants, and life, this classic 113 year old farmhouse was moved to the current location in 2007, on its 100 year anniversary, from eight miles away. Originally located on a one hundred acre pear orchard, it now sits surrounded by the magnificent Palisade area views of the Grand Mesa and the Bookcliffs, with peach orchards and a vineyard immediately surrounding it. Fully updated with 3350 square feet, three roomy bathrooms, two with claw foot tubs, a large social kitchen and great room, another living area, a formal dining room, and a large comfortably furnished wrap around porch, there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out. There are many board games, puzzles, and cable TV and WiFi for down time. All of the bedrooms have new mattresses, and the house is well insulated, with Central AC, and at a distance from the train so you will sleep soundly and comfortably. One bedroom on main floor with a queen size bed and 3/4 bath en suite; two bedrooms upstairs with queen size beds each; one bedroom upstairs with two full size beds, and a full five piece bath including claw foot tub for these rooms; also upstairs a master suite with a king size bed, plenty of floor space for additional blow up mattresses if needed, and a full five piece bath en suite including a claw foot tub. Located on a half acre, fully landscaped lot, with a vegetable garden in back and a large, ever changing, perennial garden in front. The Fabulous Farmhouse is located on one of the routes of the Fruit and Wine Byway, a local system of routes designed to let you bicycle (or drive) to the area Wineries and Fruit Stands to enjoy all our agricultural area has to offer. The house is walking distance from downtown Palisade, and we are very close to the Colorado River and the recreational opportunities it provides. In fact, you can see the high water from the porch in June! We sit about halfway along the popular “Town Float”, a fun two mile river float on paddle boards, kayaks, or “duckies”, that is a staple of summer enjoyment. There are several trailheads for moderately challenging and very scenic hikes in the immediate vicinity, including the Palisade Rim Trail with ancient native people’s petroglyphs along it. The house is a fifteen minute walk from Riverbend Park for music festivals, the Palisade Peach Fest, and the famous Colorado Mountain Wine Fest, as well as disc golf and other outdoor recreation. Riverbend Park also has an off-leash dog park. Up to two dogs are welcome at the Fabulous Farmhouse and there is a doggie door and fenced dog run for when your little buddy has got to stay home. This is a lovely, rural, and mainly flat area that is superb for bicycles, and there are rentals available from the bike shop in town. Rapid Creek Cycles also rents river equipment like SUPs and kayaks, as well as gives lessons. When you take that short drive, bike ride, or nice walk into Palisade, you will find restaurants, a brewery and a distillery, and Colorado Weedery, which is a retail cannabis store. Also a well stocked grocery store, gas and convenience stores, hardware store, liquor store, as well as art galleries and wineries. Enjoy ALL that Colorado has to offer from this location! We are “420-Friendly”! The Colorado National Monument is located in nearby Grand Junction. We are a one and a half hour drive to Moab, Utah’s red rock country and Arches National Park; one and a half hour drive from Ouray, Colorado, the “Switzerland of America”; and a forty min drive to the top of the Grand Mesa, with over two hundred lakes, plus Powderhorn Mountain Resort. Guests have full use of the house and property, excluding two locked closets upstairs containing the owners’ personal property.

This is a cute, clean, fully furnished guest cottage. It is located behind my business Millennium Wellness in downtown Cedaredge. It has a queen-size bed in the bedroom and a full size pull out couch in the living room. You can walk to downtown and we do have extra storage for bikes/camping equipment on the property. This is a 100% smoke-free property. It is safe and quiet. There is a fenced yard. We offer high-speed wifi and 2 smart tv's, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. You can watch Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon from the smart tv's but we do not have regular cable t.v.. We do not have a washer/dryer but there is a laundry mat within walking distance. All utilities are included. Dishes and Linens are also included.

Palisade BeachHouse is the perfect place to stay in Colorado's wine country. Your home away from home is ready for you to rest and relax after enjoying all that Palisade has to offer; wine tasting, hiking, mountain biking, river rafting or enjoying the many festivals scheduled in the Grand Valley. This privately owned Bed and Breakfast offers a separate entrance, 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath. Ideal for 2 people but can accommodate up to 4 guests. Private patio and shaded firepit are wonderful additions to this unit. No pets allowed.

On the Colorado river, a place removed yet close to town. Beautiful location with stunning views of the river and Grand Mesa from the porch. Enjoy this natural and tranquil setting within walking distance to town. Light bathes the living room with a direct view of the river only 100 ft from the door. Two an a half bedrooms include a queen, a full, and a fold out queen. One bathroom upstairs and one downstairs. Wonderful porch for viewing, barbecuing, eating, and relaxing. Two bicycles in case you wish to tour town and the surroundings.

This is a great base camp for an adventure! This charming home has plenty of room to house all your family & friends together with all the amenities you'll need for a fun stay. Our yard,  backs right up to your own riverside beach on the bank of the Colorado River - we've just completed a riverside Pergola with a picnic table and charcoal grill. In addition, during the late summer months, canoes and kayaks are available for use (waiver required). Play "rogue" lawn bocce ball, sit under the wisteria and enjoy a picnic, drop a line in the water or just stargaze. We have just planted a 32 tree, peach orchard with three different types of peaches so that a few years from now, guests can harvest and take home a box of peaches. Two types of lavender were planted for guests to take some clippings home as well. ALL OF THIS... is included in your stay! We also believe that a short-term rental should be well-appointed. In addition to our fleet of 10 bicycles for your use, we also provide spices, oil, vinegar, coffee, creamer, shampoo, lotion, hairdryers, an iron and ironing board, double laundry, board games, high-speed Internet, and a fun surprise for you when you first enter. If this isn't enough...we need to talk! LOL... The Palisade River House also gives you quick access to an abundance of Attractions and Events in Colorado's Wine and Peach Country - we are "ON" the Fruit and Wine Trail, just a few blocks from The Rim Trail, The (soon-to-be) Palisade Plunge, and moments away on bike or foot from the darling downtown Palisade. The house has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, but the Town of Palisade only recognizes the three upstairs bedrooms and the two upstairs bathrooms as rent-able space. This home makes the perfect base for a getaway any time of year! Our cozy home is located just off of the Grand Mesa Scenic Byway (Highway 65), providing easy access to a variety of outdoor activities. In winter, Grand Mesa has designated areas for sledding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling. In summer, these same areas provide excellent access to ATV and mountain bike trails, hiking, fishing and canoeing/kayaking. Plus, there's always a chance to catch a glimpse of a moose grazing or wandering through the backcountry. Powderhorn, a small family-friendly ski resort, is about an hour drive across the Grand Mesa, with winter and summer entertainment options. Grand Mesa hosts an annual dog sled race in January and an annual ultra-marathon race in July. A local golf course offers a unique back 9, and tournaments throughout the summer. The Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center located in Cedaredge provides a variety of fun indoor entertainment options throughout the year. With 2 queen size beds, a full size bed, and a queen sleeper sofa, the home will easily sleep 8. It has an ideal location to make it the perfect headquarters for your next family getaway. A small patio and backyard enclosed by a wooden privacy fence offers more space to enjoy your vacation. The master bedroom is spacious, with a queen size bed, dresser, and comfortable sitting area. The master bathroom features a double sink, and a walk-in shower with built-in seats. Bedroom 1 is furnished with a queen-size bed and is located next door to the second bathroom. Bedroom 2 is furnished with a full-size bed and bookshelf. Each bedroom also contains a nightstand, lamp and closet. The kitchen is small but fully equipped with a dishwasher, side-by-side refrigerator with water and ice dispenser, coffee-maker, microwave, and electric range. You will find all the basic dinnerware and food preparation necessities stocked in the cupboards and pantry. The kitchen is also furnished with a drop leaf table that can quickly convert from seating 3 to seating 6. An exterior door in the kitchen leads to a covered patio where guests can access a propane grill and enjoy a small seating area. In the living room, you'll find a 40-inch flat screen t.v. and DVD player, plus a few movies to enjoy. A love-seat, sleeper sofa, and 2 recliners provide comfortable seating. The home is also equipped with fiber-optic highspeed internet, and Dish Network. The laundry closet contains an HE Washer and Dryer. Our home is located within an easy walking distance of the Dollar General, a liquor store, the grocery store, Subway, and the public library. Leisure Time, where you will find information and equipment for your outdoor recreation needs, is also within walking distance. If you want to enjoy a creek-side stroll, an easy loop can be made from the property to the Surface Creek trail where you can enjoy the creek, ample shade, and a fun Story Walk. Main Street is also within walking distance for restaurants, a bar, a brewery, galleries, shopping, and the soon to open Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center. Cedaredge Golf Club is also located nearby. If you're looking for a golf getaway, Cedaredge is your destination. With a higher altitude, temperatures can be quite a bit cooler in Cedaredge than at other area golf courses during the summer months. The front 9's fairly straight and wide fairways are bordered by homes, large trees, winding waterways, and a good population of deer. There's an obvious reason for the courses original name, DeerCreek. The back 9 is a unique, steep, challenging, and fun experience that every avid golfer should attempt.
